All through December 2011 and January 2012 the students in 4ºA were supposed to work on the same topic from various angles, concerning a number of different school subjects (This is called 'CURRÍCULO INTEGRADO', and it is meant for the bilingual courses in French only).
The topic chosen was 'THE INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION', a movement which was born in England in the Victorian era, the beginning of the XIX century. In English we are going to take advantage of the fact that CHARLES DICKENS (1812-1870), the most popular and important writer of the time, is being honoured in 2012 (the bicentennial of his birth), so we will focus on a general introduction regarding the Industrial Revolution as a whole, and then the students will design posters and PowerPoint presentations about Dickens's life and works, one of the best references to get to know his time.

Besides, all students in 4ºA and 4ºB will have to do their reading projects on 'HARD TIMES', one of his most acclaimed novels.
